How to simulate a football match

  1. Select two different national teams from the bundled 2026 tournament field.
  2. Choose Form matters to give team ratings more influence, or More upsets for a less predictable game.
  3. Select Play this matchup to generate a score and winner. Play again to explore another possible result.

What do the probabilities mean?

The three percentages describe the model's first-team win, draw and second-team win chances over 90 minutes. They are generated from bundled Elo-style ratings and the selected match style, rather than live odds. The simulated game uses knockout rules: a draw goes to extra time and, if necessary, penalties, so every completed game has a winner.

One result is one possible outcome. It is not an official prediction or a live score. The simulator does not continuously update squads, injuries or lineups. Read the simulation methodology and data limitations for the formula and sources.

Can I simulate a whole tournament?

Yes. Replay the 2026 World Cup, explore a 2030 projection, or make a custom tournament with editable teams and rules. This single-match tool runs independently and does not change your tournament or player-career progress.

See the tournament setup guide for group draws, manual scores and knockout brackets.
